As of Wednesday, September 14, 2016,

The CALS eFARS system has been shut down for the 2015 reporting period and will not be used for reporting in 2016.

As you are probably aware by now, 2015 was the final year for the CALS eFARS system.

Starting with the 2016 reporting period, CALS, along with the rest of the university, will be using the Provost's new Symplectic Elements system (also called "EFARS") for annual faculty reporting.

CALS eFARS is open for access to archived documents (faculty reports, evaluations, etc.). CALS Unit Leaders can also access archived Unit data.

Training on the new EFARS system is available for faculty through NLI this fall. Extension field faculty will be provided training via their DPLT members in the next several months. A WebEx recording of an Elements EFARS preview conducted for CALS Department Heads can be viewed here.

A system overview and guidance are available on the provost's web site at:

Faculty can login to the new system with their Virginia Tech PID and password at
